Johan Gielen kweekt grootste karper

De Vlaamse dj Johan Gielen mag zich vanaf dit weekend de beste karperkweker ter wereld noemen. In Japan won hij het wereldkampioenschap met zijn zeventig centimeter lange karper Shusui. Gielen, bekend van de platen ‘The beauty of silence’ en ‘Twisted’, is al lange tijd een groot liefhebber van de vissen. Hij won al verschillende nationale en internationale prijzen, maar het wereldkampioenschap, waar duizenden karpers voor worden ingeschreven, sleepte hij nog niet eerder in de wacht.
